[ He'll have to provide better information than that if he wants to impress Dinah again, and visiting that research facility is out of the question. But on the up side, at least there aren't any negative consequences for his failure other than an overly curt response. ]

[In light of how poorly things went, Peony feels that this requires a more personal apology than a simple text or voice message. Asking for a meeting would be seen as more of a waste of the councilwoman's time though, and he isn't foolish enough to do so after already asking her a favor in giving him that sword.

That's not even getting into the fact that he let them have Flint's palm reader back. He was supposed to "monitor" that.

The letter he hands off to the councilwoman's secretary is written in surprisingly neat script, the calligraphy that's been drilled into him by hours of lessons as the crown prince of Malkuth. She'll need her translation function to read it of course, but since it's automatic he's hoping it's not seen as too much trouble. Along with the letter is a map with the location in Dana Burn that Jade tailed Kin to circled. It's not much. The best he's hoping for at this point is to be seen as incompetent but not a threat.

I owe you my most sincere apologies. Upon arriving in this world I made the grave mistake of judging it by the standards of my world. I know now that was a grave mistake. Because of my lack of understanding of the gravity of the situation and ill-advised pity on a child of Midas a great tragedy occurred at the Emerald Tower, and for that I know I cannot begin to atone.

It had been my hope to use whatever small trust those erroneous actions might have garnered with the boy along with his comrade's possessions would be enough to draw him out, but though he was willing to set up a meeting he sent an intermediary to retrieve the items. While I realize it's wholly inadequate in comparison to his capture, I was able to send a tail after the girl. She delivered the items to the location indicated on the enclosed map.

If possible and if you believe it to be advantageous, I will endeavor to remain in contact with the boy. Giving him his comrade's possessions is likely to make him continue to be favorably inclined toward me, and with some luck I may still be able to lure him out at a later date.

[ The next time Peony leaves his floor of Eos Tower, he will return to a typed letter in his communications port. It's in English, which his reader with helpfully translate, and it's on official city stationary. It explains in clinical and polished terms that due to his loss of a an important piece of city property (Flint's palm reader, though the letter doesn't mention it specifically), his property, one Kaname Chidori, has been temporarily impounded. Peony's property will be returned to him in three days, the letter states, and any further contact with Councilwoman Saffron outside of official city business is strongly discouraged. It's signed by a stamp of Dinah Saffron's name.

Peony will probably notice now that Kaname is missing, and she will remain missing for the next three days. Any calls to Dinah or visits to her office will be met by her secretary telling Peony that she is in an important meeting and can't be excused. Visiting the jail or prisons, Peony will be met by officers telling him either that they don't know where Kaname is or that she is in a secure storage location and will be returned to him in the time set by the letter he received. Their orders are from the top, and no amount of arguing, money, or violence can be used to persuade them.

In the future, it would be a good idea for Peony to be more careful with city property. Luckily for him, the sword was technically gifted and belonging to him, so the only punishment he receives for losing it is the grudge Dinah holds. ]

[She wonders if Dinah will remember her. It's possible that she does considering those odd 'gifts' she received after Flint's death, and her curious venture into Dana-Burn. Another thought is if being monitored like that will either help or hinder her case here. Truly Kaname's experience with both the government and the Embers have been mixed results. She could either be the bitter ex-pet who blamed Peony for her torture, and wishes to see the terrorists he helped become extinguished. Or Chidori could be the mourning girl who wishes to see the demise of the terrorists who tempted Peony into such an untimely death.]

Dear Councilwoman, I hope I haven't called you at a bad time. I was simply curious about the execution of that awful man who escaped prison recently. Will it be public? I hope to make myself available to see the spectacle if it is.

As of this month, Ion Fortuna was released from his pet contract and ring removed as he was illegally registered. With such turmoil within Quicksilver Trust and the lack of rest Geneva is getting, one has to wonder how much she'd paying attention to what's going on outside the Ivory Tower.

[There's the odd sound of a tape being fast-forwarded before that same recording played into the palm reader from here to here before Mary clicked the tape recorder off.]

[ There's no immediate response to what Mary sends along, but it's definitely not ignored at all. It may seem like it, but a few days later, Mary will find an unmarked envelope waiting for her at her door. If Mary opens it, she'll find a letter and a thin, transparent piece of plastic roughly the size of a credit card. The message that comes with it is handwritten in elegant, almost calligraphy-like script. It seems like Dinah has nice handwriting. ]

You've impressed me, and that's not easily done. What you've passed along is being taken into consideration, and as promised, I hope this is a reward you can appreciate. I don't give frivolous gift cards for good work.

[ If she presses her thumb to it as instructed, a small holographic display will pop up from the card with a screen and keyboard. The display itself is very basic with only a text input box and a label above it: "LIVING WILL ACTIVATION. INPUT PALM READER ID:"

Whether it's for Mary or for someone she knows, whatever Palm Reader number she inputs will receive a living will. If she tries to input an elite's ID number, the display will give her an error, so she'll have to use it for a mongrel. The card will only allow her to input one ID before the plastic will shrivel up and disintegrate. She isn't required to input an ID immediately, however. Mary can choose to save the card, but it will only work for her fingerprints. If she does choose to use it immediately, just comment here with which character she'd use it for, and if not, just PM the mods when she activates it with that information! ]

Please see the attached file. Have you ever encountered this kind of armor before? A contact of mine is asking about it, but I've never seen it around. It is possible that it is associated with the group known as The Musicians and was last sighted around Dana-Burn in late January.

In regards to the Zero situation, I have narrowed the current location to Flare. I'm still working on a more precise location.

[After some frustration, Mary finally turned to her All Points contact and friend that might have the relevant information. Good thing the two of them had a common enemy that made it perfectly logical why Mary had been trying to find Savagal.]

I found the warehouse in Flare Zero had been keeping Savagal. Unfortunately, it had already been moved by the time I found the location. I did more digging into things and have confirmed that Zero - Kallen Kouzaki - is dead.

[She'd learned that from Noiz who had gone to look at dead bodies at recently.]

After that, I was able to find out that Savagal had been taken by Samus Aran. She destroyed it. I couldn't get out of her how she destroyed it, but she didn't want the remote chance that it would ever fall into Black Market hands with Kallen dead. I have no reason to believe she would lie to me.

Not the news we wanted, but at least Savagal won't become part of Leandro's arsenal.
